Md. Cholem Ullah was born at Mirwarishpur village of Begumgonj Upazila in the district of Noakhali, Bangladesh. Now he is serving as an Assistant Professor of Islamic History and Culture at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). He completed his Graduation and Post Graduation in Islamic History and Culture from Dhaka University.
He has contributed to a number of research articles published in various recognized peer-reviewed journals both at home and abroad. He also attended many seminars, workshops and conferences. Currently, he is a Ph.D. fellow in the Department of History at Jahangirnagar University.
